WebIf by chicken wire, you mean real chicken wire, then no. It won't keep out rodents, they will squeeze right through. It will however keep out burrowing chickens :-). Get a tighter meshed wire for rodents. Most of my beds are 2' deep lined with landscape fabric. The roots do not go down that far so they do not need to punch through it.
