Using these settings will create 6 large cities spread out with towns, farms, and misc POIs scattered in between. Traders many, placed next to towns. It does have a learning curve but it is worth it for all the new stuff in the game. Yes it is harder but not super hard. I suggest that you play at one (maybe two) level (s) lower difficulty than you play vanilla.

One map will have vanilla POIs and the biomes will be very much like those in vanilla and the other will have those from the Compo Pack. So, for example...
