Reactor fouling
WebFouling of a reactor zone is partially overcome by a periodic increase of the reactor pressure by means of the operation of a control valve located near the reactor exit. The periodic operation of the valve results in an increase of the velocity of the reaction mixture that tears away the polymeric deposits. WebAug 4, 2016 · In some reactors, the heat of reaction is removed by means of cooling water circulating into the reactor jackets. Some processes use external coolers, overhead condensers or internal cooling coils. Regardless of the cooling method, efficiency is required to control the desired reaction rates and to avoid any associated fouling.
